It covers this website and any order you place through it.<\/p>\n<p>We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong. If you are ordering from Singapore, the protections described here are intended to meet the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 as well.<\/p>\n<h2>What we collect<\/h2>\n<h3>Things you give us<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Order and account details<\/strong> &mdash; your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prescription information<\/strong> &mdash; the powers, base curve and diameter you wear, and where you have asked us to obtain the prescription for you, your optometrist&#8217;s name and clinic. This is health data and we treat it accordingly: it is used to fill and verify your order and nothing else.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anything you write to us<\/strong> &mdash; messages sent through the contact form, by email or over WhatsApp, and our replies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Things collected automatically<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you viewed, through ordinary server logs.<\/li>\n<li>Cookies, described below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What we never see<\/h3>\n<p>Card numbers do not reach us. Payments are handled by our payment provider on their own systems; we receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last few digits needed to match it to your order.<\/p>\n<h2>Why we use it<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To take, verify, pack and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.<\/li>\n<li>To let you sign in, see your order history and reorder.<\/li>\n<li>To answer questions and handle refund or delivery claims.<\/li>\n<li>To meet our legal and accounting obligations.<\/li>\n<li>To keep the site working and secure, and to understand in aggregate which pages people use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.<\/p>\n<h2>Cookies<\/h2>\n<p>The site sets cookies that are necessary for it to function &mdash; keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, and remembering that you have dismissed a notice. These cannot be switched off without breaking checkout.<\/p>\n<p>We also use analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies; if you block the necessary ones, the cart and checkout will not work.<\/p>\n<h2>Who else sees your data<\/h2>\n<p>Only the parties who need it to complete your order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Delivery carriers<\/strong>, who receive your name, address and phone number, and who may pass your details to customs where an import declaration is required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Our payment provider<\/strong>, who receives what is needed to take payment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Our hosting and email providers<\/strong>, who process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for anything else.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your optometrist<\/strong>, where you have asked us to contact them to confirm a prescription.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will also disclose data where the law requires it.<\/p>\n<h2>Where your data goes<\/h2>\n<p>Orders are fulfilled from Hong Kong, so your details are processed there and by carriers in the destination country. Where data moves between countries, we require our providers to protect it to the standard set out in this policy.<\/p>\n<h2>How long we keep it<\/h2>\n<p>Order records, including prescription details, are kept for as long as we need them to support the order and to meet accounting and regulatory requirements &mdash; generally seven years. Account data is kept until you ask us to close the account. Contact messages are kept for two years. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.<\/p>\n<h2>Keeping it safe<\/h2>\n<p>Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to do their job. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and held on access-controlled systems. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.<\/p>\n<h2>Your rights<\/h2>\n<p>You can ask us to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;<\/li>\n<li>correct anything that is wrong;<\/li>\n<li>delete your account and the data we are not legally required to keep;<\/li>\n<li>stop sending you marketing &mdash; every marketing email also has an unsubscribe link.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we are not handing your data to someone else.<\/p>\n<h2>Children<\/h2>\n<p>This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. A minor&#8217;s order should be placed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the prescription supplied.<\/p>\n<h2>Changes<\/h2>\n<p>If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.<\/p>\n<h2>Contact and complaints<\/h2>\n<p>To exercise any of the rights above, or to complain about how we have handled your data, contact us using the details below.
